Our volunteers and staff regularly put together shoeboxes of love, which include essential items that some in our community may not be able to afford. To put these together, our volunteers and staff tend to donate their own items and some also take the additional step to add an extra item to their regular weekly shop, to include in the boxes. With this being said, the inclusion of the soap, bed sheets, and towels we received from Big W through Good360, was a huge help in putting these together!
These particular shoeboxes have been prepared and are ready to be distributed to the Northern Area Domestic Violence Services families. Our volunteers tell us they feel they’re able to make a big difference to people’s lives with these boxes. Although they don't get to see the recipients of the boxes, the feedback they receive from the case managers is enough to acknowledge the generous support.
