Sun Safety at Brewarrina Central School

Brewarrina Central School would like to thank Good360 and the donors of the Banana Boat sunscreen and maroon hats and bucket hats.

We are a K-12 rural school with 164 students. Our school adheres to the Department of Education’s Sun Safe Policy all year as our temperatures, at times, reach the high 20s in winter and 45 degrees in summer.

Over the COVID-19 period it has been difficult for families to leave our small community to shop. The nearest major retail stores are a four hour drive. Our students were relying on preloved hats supplied by staff and family members as we had a limited supply of hats for purchase. The donation of hats and sunscreen have enabled the school to distribute all K-6 staff and students with a hat and sunscreen to keep their skin safe.

Our secondary students did not miss out thanks to the donation of white polo shirts. The school currently sell polo shirts with school emblems for $25. This means that some families only have up to two shirts for each child. The donation of white polos have allowed us to handout shirts to students without cost to the parents and promotes school pride with less children out of uniform.

Thank you so much to Good360 and all the donors for the support you are giving our school. It is appreciated.
