2020 so far has been a busy year for Give Write. Last year we delivered 850 Give Write Packs to schools around the state, and already this year we are sitting at 926.
The COVID crisis has played a role in this demand, with a peak of orders received upon the announcement of students being required to work from home and many teachers realized that their students had no resources to so. One of our prime drivers is that no child should be disadvantaged in their education because of a lack of tools, so this became an important driver for us to help wherever we could. One metropolitan school requested 240 Give Write Packs – our biggest single order to date.
Good360 was an invaluable supporter for us, with excellent resources available exactly when we needed them. We ordered Student and Teachers Packs which contained so many of the essentials we needed to keep up with our orders.
Orders have come in from all over the state and we were thrilled to be able to supply an entire school in the remote North West with packs for all of their 137 students from Kindergarten to Senior School.
Our recipient teachers are very thankful for the items and many of them express their gratitude.
Youth Care Chaplain Ms Iz Folau said: “I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the donation- I've only given a few pencil cases away so far but the effect on the students has been amazing, just seeing their faces light up was special.”
