Keeping Children Engaged During Restrictions

Educational based learning through play provides opportunity for kids to develop creative skills while building their problem-solving abilities. We know when kids are engage in play, they retain information, are eager to learn more and ultimately are set up for a lifetime of knowledge. Play is also a time when parents can engage with their children in a relaxed way.

Keeping children from vulnerable families engaged with the COVID-19 restrictions has been made easier thanks to Good360, Lego and Pi Kids, who came to our aid by supplying educational resources for the families that Infinity Community Solutions work with.

It was rewarding to see children immediately engaging with the LEGO Recruitment Bags and Pi Kids Write and Erase Books, which we were able to distribute recently. These resources have been made available at a crucial time for vulnerable families. We know the children will learn valuable skills through play on an ongoing basis even after restriction are eased.

These resources give parents support in home education while offering opportunities for quality interactions under the guise of play. Because the resources also span age groups, older children could be left to their own devices in play, allowing parents to encourage independent problem solving.

We are so grateful for the Good360 program and sponsors such as Pi Kids and LEGO. We see the value in being able to provide such educational resources to our vulnerable families.
