St Dominic's Catholic Primary school is in Broadmeadows, the northern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria.
2020 has been an exceptionally challenging year for our diverse community who has been heavily impacted by COVID-19. Many of our families have been impacted either by directly contracting the virus or by job loss, financial insecurity, and the strain of long-term restrictions and lockdown.
Christmas can be a tough time but this year our families have been blessed by donations of Toys, Nappies, back-to-school products, and Family Empower Packs.
Our staff took great pride in wrapping gifts for the children and delivering them to the family homes. There were tears of joy and grateful hearts all around as Christmas cheer was brought to the community.
When we were offered a donation from Big W for school bags packed with stationery goods for our kids we were over the moon! What a fabulous way for the students to start the year refreshed and energised and on such a positive note. It was one less thing for our families to worry about and such a fabulous surprise for the kids. Thank you BIG W!
