Empower Packs for a Fire Affected Community

Habitat for Humanity SA staff distributed Good360 Empower packs to 26 property owners who were affected by the Cudlee Creek fire.
The bags were prepared with products tailored to suit singles, couples as well as families with children or adult dependents.
We delivered the bags on 21 and 22 December 2020, to correspond with the one-year anniversary of the fire. For most property owners this was a challenging time, and because of this, we did not feel it appropriate asking the recipients to pose for a photo with their bag.
We did, however, take a photo of one property owner, Graham Smith. Graham’s property was severely damaged by the Cudlee Creek bushfire including the total destruction of his house and extensive damage to vegetation and fences. He is shown proudly standing in front of his new house, which has just been completed. Habitat for Humanity assisted him with the removal of damaged fencing and vegetation as well as the restoration of the garden around his new house.
Habitat for Humanity SA assisted 147 property owners in 2020. The 26 homeowners we selected to give a Good360 bag have found the recovery process particularly challenging, due to the extend of damaged incurred by the fire and or other extenuating health or family issues.
We received very positive comments from recipients. They were touched to know that people were thinking of them at this time. Thanks to the generous support of Good360 and its donor partners
