We at 4Life Care are primarily based in Port Macquarie, situated on the Mid North Coast, around 5 hours drive North of Sydney. We seek to serve the Hastings & Macleay Area around Port Macquarie. With the recent floods in the region during March/April 2021, we saw significant numbers of our Community members affected dramatically.
4Life Care serves as the voice of those living in poverty, calling for more effective poverty relief solutions, and working with leaders from across the public, private and non-profit sectors to identify pathways out of poverty.
We recently received some Good360 Empower Packs from which have been distributed to affected families in this area through RAPID, who delivered goods to remote locations in Rollands Plains during April.
The devastation has been phenomenal and unlike anything we've seen in recent decades. So many families have lost their homes and belongings, cars have been washed into the river. There is a big clean-up job ahead; trees have been felled from the strength of the water, roadways washed away, homes destroyed (perhaps having only just survived the bushfires last year), and livestock drowned. The mental strength needed by the locals is often tested, so it's a welcome relief to be able to bring some form of assistance.
