Each year the volunteers of the Footscray Soup Van generously donate hours of their time to create a special atmosphere for the people we serve at the Footscray Soup Van Christmas party!
There are over 350 people who attend this Christmas party, for many, it is their only Christmas celebration. Children, families, single people and friends come together to celebrate their Christmas party. Most of the people are experiencing homelessness and/or disadvantage and would not otherwise celebrate Christmas. This is the highlight of the year for both volunteers and people we serve. Of course the Christmas party would not be complete without a visit from Santa and he needs to bring an appropriate gift for each child, woman and man. This year this was made a lot more possible with the gifts from Good360 as we always struggle to find gifts for women and men.
The wonderful gifts of women's beauty products and men's accessories, meant that no one left without a gift that they really loved. People were in awe of the great quality gifts they received this year from Santa and left with big smiles on their faces. Thanks to Good360 for the positive impact this made on so many people in need. We also held Christmas parties in Collingwood, Moe, Berwick, Endeavour Hills and Rosebud - each sharing in these gifts to be given out by Santa to those people most in need.
