Promoting Positive Mental Wellbeing and Self Care

The Dallas Neighbourhood House has been running a series of free Mental Wellbeing and Self Care sessions to parent groups at local primary schools in response to escalating stress levels, anxiety, depression and low self-esteem that many parents are facing. Last year’s COVID-19 lockdown had a negative impact on many. Some in our multicultural community were badly affected as the lockdown re-triggered previous traumatic events they experienced as refugees.
In preparation for the sessions, we ordered some body lotion and hair conditioner from Good360 to give out as pamper packs to attendees. Our workshop facilitator incorporated the use of body lotion into the sessions as well. She conducts a self-care activity where attendees massage the body lotion into their hands whilst closing their eyes and focusing on something that makes them happy.
The sessions have been really successful and it’s been nice to give women a pamper pack to continue the messages of self-care and the importance of looking after yourself.
Many thanks to Good360 and its product donors for their generous support.
