Verona's vulnerable families supported always

Verona School, located in Fairfield East serves 63 students all with a diagnosed mental health condition, emotional disturbance, behavioural difficulty or autism. Our school prides itself on supporting not only our students but their families also. Our strong, positive relationships that we build with our community mean that they are comfortable in reaching out for support when they need it. During the recent floods, one family of six, had their house so badly damaged that it was unliveable. The family were moved to hotel accommodation but that was difficult for the single mother and her four children, three of whom have significant disabilities to manage. Lack of space, cooking facilities saw the family move in with a relative. Being able to provide the family with sleeping bags and mattresses meant that they could stay in the family members home without being a burden. Mum could store medications, cook for her children and they were able to sleep safely and comfortably. When new housing was found for the family, mum spoke of how grateful she was to be in possession of the sleeping bags and mattresses as they continued to serve her family well while they waited on the delivery of new furniture as much of their old stuff was damaged beyond repair when their roof caved in. Verona School thanks Good360 for their never ending support of our community and Adventure operations for their generous donations.
