Showing our Tenant Families We Care!

Noongar Mia Mia is an Aboriginal-owned Community Housing Provider serving Aboriginal people and their families on Noongar country with affordable, stable and culturally-secure housing. We’re also the only organisation of our kind serving Perth, where one-third of Aboriginal Western Australians live. We’re not just a landlord though – we support and advocate for our tenants, we’re part of our community, and we exist to ensure that our people are safely homed. We’re by our mob, for our mob, and everything we do is for our culture and our people!

That means much more than providing four walls and a roof – we provide homes and a stable base for wraparound wellbeing and support services. Many of our tenants have had terrible experiences in the housing market, so there’s often a natural mistrust. Doing what we do effectively means proactively showing that we’re different, that we’re on their side; yarning together, and building meaningful, respectful relationships.

These gifts mean so much, and they help our families feel valued and know that we care. We’ve already started bringing these gorgeous gifts to our tenant families when we come to visit, and kids are so happy to receive them. We’re looking forward to sending out the Xmas LEGO packs as our first-ever Xmas presents to families as well!
