LEGO and Backpacks help kids feel less worried and embarrassed

Merriwa Primary School is a rich multicultural, inclusive and vibrant school in the northern suburbs of Perth.

Our students come from a variety of backgrounds and socio-economic levels, where life is not always easy.

Simple things such as backpacks, shoes, socks and stationery are never taken for granted, and can make the difference to a child coming happily to school, or a child feeling worried and maybe embarrassed.

Our staff work incredibly hard to make sure that no child ever misses out due to family circumstances.

That is why this incredible donation of back packs and stationery makes such a difference. The quiet gratitude in the faces of the children who receive these basic necessities cannot be measured.

And then there is the donation of LEGO!

Our kids need some fun too! It is not only used in our critical thinking, technology and science programs, but also as a quiet activity where they can enjoy the mindfulness of simple play.
