We are a small P-10 school in south of Canberra. We proudly host a community rich with cultural and linguistic diversity. And are proudly home to a dedicated Koori Preschool. We run a disability program across both the junior & senior campus & our well-being team prides itself on working closely with members of our community experiencing hardship.
We recently received a pallet of mixed apparel from Big W via Good360. We were blown away with the quality, quantity & variety received. We worked hard for a week to set up a space, with items in size and category, for families to access the clothing.
We initially opened the access to families who are experiencing financial hardship and were delighted with the community uptake. We then broadened access & this allowed us to interact with families we may otherwise not have known could benefit from the support.
Setting the space up as a 1 person at a time drop in facilitated the strengthening of relationships between families & the wellbeing team and in a number of instances allowed us to support additional needs for families. There was ample clothing to provide many many families with a full winter wardrobe for their children & items for themselves.
Each family was incredibly appreciative, with all expressing disbelief at the generosity of Big W & Good360.
Thank you
Our families are going into winter with a decreased financial burden, children with new winter clothes and an enhanced sense of connection with our school community.
