The love of generosity and kindness is contagious!

The clothing donated by Big W through Good360 might hold a dollar value, but there truly is no measurable value when you see the impact of what one warm jacket can do for someone fallen on hard times, in only a t-shirt on days where the cold can cut right into the bones!

In May 2022, we received 4 massive pallets of warm jackets and clothing as part of the mid-season donation. Our volunteers spent a couple of weeks sorting, planning and making up packs of warm goodies in preparation for the cold weather.

The clothing we received has been made up into small bags which is handed out to members of our community in crisis. Including victims of domestic violence, homelessness, foster children, new comers to the country, pensioners and those just doing it tough!

One photo included is of a 63 year old man called "N", referred to us by the local police. Forced into homelessness through a house fire, "N" has been on the street, living in his vehicle for the last two years. Without any ID, he has not accessed emergency services or Centrelink payments to help him get by. When we learnt about his plight, we picked him up, took him to a local community center for a shower and a bag full of brand new clothes. He was so overwhelmed to receive these warm clothes!

This is just one of many stories of people receiving a bag of warm clothing who would otherwise not have the means to purchase it.
