Yarra Junction Community Hub is treating local residents to ‘silver service’ with its recently acquired Jamie Oliver ‘setting’ of bowls and tumblers.
A seniors group based at the hub was particularly thrilled with the matching tumblers and bowls at a recent nutritious lunch. Other users of the hub have been equally delighted with the tableware including teenagers at the weekly Level Up esports Youth Program.
Funded by a Yarra Ranges Council Community Grant, the group provides connection and social interaction for seniors in the Upper Yarra, an area of socio economic disadvantage and related challenges such as isolation, mental health issues.
The hub is one of the core operations of Cire Services Inc, one of the largest not-for-profits in the Yarra Ranges and unique to the region.
