Coonamble Neighbourhood Centre has worked closely with Coonamble High School, Coonamble Police and The Pride Foundation to hold a Wear it Purple Day.
Every year thousands of schools, community organisations, universities and workplaces hold events across Australia for Wear It Purple Day. As a day of significance for many Australians, it focuses on our LGBTQIA+ youth and the issues they face, whilst showing them they have the right to be proud of who they are and who they are becoming.
By wearing purple on the last Friday of August the Coonamble Community has demonstrated that rainbow young people across the community are seen, supported and respected. The Community would like to thank Good360 and their amazing donor GILDAN for the purple T-Shirts that helped make this day a huge success.
