Bushfire relief work with communities in Colo Heights

Milan Hilda Care visited Colo Heights in Hawkesbury’s North West on Friday 17th Jan 2020 to provide food, water and presents for this community that suffered through the bushfires in November 2019.

It was heartbreaking for us driving into this community and seeing all the burnt bush, black trees with strangely orange branches and dead leaves covering the ground. No wildlife to be seen and not a single bird. The bush was quiet, strangely quiet.

We thank Hawksbury council for offering us their community hall to set up food, bottled water and other drinks, toiletries, kids’ presents and afternoon tea for the day.

We met around 40 adults and 20 children. We realised that these families didn't celebrate Christmas as many moved away during the bushfires and they were very happy to accept the presents we prepared for them.
Good360’s LEGO, Qantas Pyjamas, shopkins toys, and toiletries made the perfect Christmas presents for these families together with the food supplies we got from other organisations.

We would like to thank Good360 for making this possible and for bringing joy and hope to this community that has suffered a big loss in the bushfires.
We are grateful to have met these lovely people and are committed to helping them get back on their feet.
