Just a phone call away

Adam has had a long history of homelessness and incarceration but is determined to turn his life around. Since moving to a Housing Choices SA property, Adam has struggled with low self esteem and social isolation which has been impacted by a prepaid phone which he could only sometimes afford credit for. Adam would often come to our office reception to make calls which was inconvenient for him and lacked privacy. Since accessing the Optus pre-paid sim, Adam has never been without the ability to get in touch with others. Because he is contactable Adam is now involved in community programs and has built up a friendship group with people living in his community. He now hopes to start volunteering and give back to the community.
