Spotlight Shines

Spotlight went to ‘infinity and beyond’ shining some much-needed light into the lives of the ‘little people’ within our service.

Thanks to the generosity of Spotlight and the good name of Good360 we had the privilege of visiting Lynette and some of her amazing team at Spotlight in Laverton North. We received 24 hard shell Toy Story cases filled with goodies. Toys (Woody, Buzz and Jessie) where all crammed into the cases along with a Toy Story 3 DVD set, and 2 colouring books. The cases alone would have made a wonderful gift, having them filled with Toy Story merchandise was an absolute bonus.

Only yesterday we had a mum come to pick up gifts for her children for Christmas. We had handpicked appropriate gifts for her little family. Among the gifts was one of the cases from Spotlight. She had no idea of the contents. Wrapped in plastic we told her to open it. Her words were: ‘I can’t take that, seriously? That is just too generous.’ Fighting back tears she asked if she could give us a hug.

If only Spotlight could have witnessed that encounter….and there will be many more to follow.

A huge thank you to Liz at Good360 and to the team at Spotlight for shedding their light into the lives of children experiencing family violence this Christmas.
