A comforting cuddle

Change can be a little daunting for children, and this was especially the case for Lauren's first trip in her new loan wheelchair-accessible vehicle. Luckily a cuddly bear, with pink hearts (Lauren's favorite color) from Big W through Good360 made the experience all the easier.
Lauren and her family received a Loan Wheelchair accessible vehicle from Wheels for Hope to enable them to get Lauren to all her medical appointments, activities and to be able to enjoy outings as a family. Wheels for Hope is a small WA charity assisting WA families with life-changing transport. As part of the loan program, Wheels for Hope cover all the running costs, including licensing, insurance, service, and maintenance.
"We can't thank you all enough for granting us the wheelchair vehicle. So far we have been able to take Lauren to a Therapy appointment, to trial potential supportive seating options, and to get a Photo Card for future ID purposes. Having the van meant we were also able to comfortably take Lauren's Support Workers with us, making it easier for them to access and respond to Lauren as needed, throughout each trip. We are planning that our next outing will be for pleasure to do something fun together as a family before we need to use the van again to transport Lauren to another appointment."
