Hydrating 'HomeBase Hoops'

Home Base is an out of hours community where youth in the Mildura area, aged 10-17 can come to connect with each other, feel safe, learn new skills and have a place to belong. It is a youth-led initiative supported by a consortium of local health and community services. The Christie Centre is one of these supporting organisations.

One of Home Base's activities is a late-night basketball competition called 'HomeBase Hoops', which provides a safe after-hours option for young people without other safe places to go at night.

To support HomeBase Hoops, the Christie Centre was proudly able to donate drink bottles from Good360. The young people from Home Base then branded the drink bottles with their logo (pictured) and gave them out to players who needed them.

Many of the young people attending Home Base have unstable living arrangements and have few personal items of their own. Having a personal reusable drink bottle with a team logo on it was a really important step to improving self-esteem and social connectedness.
