It's been uplifting to support parents and carers who are on low-income, single parents, and migrant families. Our families have been able to use their phones and data to resolve issues around homelessness and finding new rental properties. Families have been able to keep in touch and up to date with school events and activities with access to the School Star app.
One of our migrant families was delighted to have a sim card so that she can contact the school. She looks after her 3 children full time and is finding it hard to get work where the children don't need before and/or after school care. One of our carers is struggling to make ends meet as a result of having no permanent home. She has lived in shared accomodation and couch surfed since March this year. She is thankfully now moving into a more permanent home.
