On Easter Sunday 200 of our youngest students, including reception and year 2's lost their classrooms in a fire. Our students lost all of their learning materials and have not been able to return to their classrooms.
Our teaching staff strives to create holistic welcoming spaces for all our students. They also lost all of their personal belongings that have been collected over their careers. The teachers have been able to gift all our children with little LEGO kits to take home. A majority of these students have not previously had LEGO toys to enjoy in their homes.
This shipment of LEGO from Good360 was a very welcomed gift to our classroom teachers. They were able to replace some of their lost construction toys. The children have experienced increased anxiety and feelings of worry since the fire. These toys allowed them to have a space in the classroom to express themselves through their creations. It has been lovely to see our students smiling and giggling away through play.
The students who were not directly affected have been able to use the LEGO kits as part of their Design Technology lessons. Prompting them to work collaboratively with their peers, and follow directions to create different castles for our younger students.
Thank you Good360 and LEGO for supporting our students.
