The cost of living increases have really hit our local families hard.
We were lucky enough to receive an amazing box of children's clothes from Best and Less, dummies, and sippy cups from Phillips. This helped us start our Swap and Share rack. Available in the community center full-time, families can take what they want from the rack. No money, no paperwork, no shame.
The items are for families to keep, but other items are welcome for donations when they are grown out. This not only saves money but helps the environment by saving items from landfill.
We are co-located with the local child health nurse, making it available to all young families in the area. On day one of us putting it out, we saw 5 families take items from the collection, showing us it is an on-demand service. We hope to increase it by larger sizes in the future to reach more families.
