At the Atherton Community Centre, we run our Emergency Relief program with volunteers that provide food parcels and food vouchers to people in need. Being able to provide Sim cards with phone credit to people who live in a regional area and are in financial distress is such a bonus to our program and really makes a difference to people that otherwise would be socially and locationally isolated.
Pictured is Emily, one of our amazing volunteers. Emily provided one of the vouchers received to a client who is 3 days overdue to have a baby, is in financial distress, and has limited support options. The relief to this client to receive\ this bonus was immeasurable, and this is just one recipient of this valuable donation!
