Lots of Goodies

The donations received from Big W provide a huge help to our Emergency Relief service. Since receiving the boxes of clothing, hosiery and crockery, we’ve been able to set up a material aid section for our Emergency Relief service. This section has especially helped consumers who present as homeless or who have needed to relocate due to violence, cost of living pressures or those finally being accepted into social housing. We have been able to provide kitchen packs using the crockery, glasses and pots/pans that have been donated by Big W through Good360, for consumers needing to settle into a new home. With winter setting in, brand-new clothing especially long sleeve shirts, track pants, jumpers, warm socks, and underwear has been a surprise gift for many of our consumers that were coming in just for food relief. One of our recent consumers exclaimed how lucky to be able to get brand-new clothing from us rather than second-hand clothes that she’s used to buying from op-shops. It made her feel special, like “any other normal human”.
The toys from Big W will go towards our Christmas program at the end of the year where we provide the option for consumers with children under 15 to choose Christmas presents for their kids. This program is one of our most loved programs, but often we struggle to raise enough toy donations to provide for every child. The Big W toy donations will provide us with a big leg up in our toy drive for 2023.
Thank you Good360 and Big W
