Zoo SA has a wonderful team of volunteers that offer their time to help Adelaide Zoo, Monarto Safari Park, our staff and visitors, the animals in our care, and our conservation projects across the globe.
As a non-government conservation charity, volunteers are at the heart of our operations contributing thousands of hours per year over many areas. Our volunteers come from many different backgrounds and have many different life experiences, and yet all have at least one thing in common, the willingness to give their time to fulfill their passion for the environment and conservation.
Zoos SA is humbled by the generosity of the spirit and compassion of our volunteers who so generously give their time, warmth, and humor, working hard to connect people with nature. We know many a lasting friendship has been formed within the volunteer community, with social activities and fun as just some of the unexpected rewards that our volunteers gain from donating their time and care. This year we were able to use LEGO which was generously donated by Good360 to create signs to show our appreciation for our amazing volunteers during National Volunteers Week. Young people visiting the zoo for educational sessions created these signs as a fun, engaging, and unique way to thank our volunteers and show our appreciation.
