Goodie Bags for families

This week we handed out the fantastic goodie bags donated by Good360, we received them just in time to hand them out in the last week of the school term.
The bags had so many amazing goodies inside of them from drink bottles to hand cream and even small boxes of LEGO for school-aged children to enjoy. We were able to gift these bags to our families who attended our Sing and Play session and our Koolbardi Waabiny Playgroup at our Koongamia site. To make sure the bags were relevant for the families receiving them, we removed the LEGO and gifted it to the school children on our morning bus runs.
The families were so excited to receive the gifts in the Good360 bags, Two of our families were in tears stating that it had been a long time since they had received anything new. All families expressed that in addition to the practical items in the bags, the thoughtfulness of the gifts made them feel like they were getting a “warm hug from the community”.
You can see from the attached pictures the children from our morning bus run, were incredibly excited to receive the LEGO and were told that it was a reward for their improved attendance and attitudes this term. The children on this bus run are incredibly vulnerable and don’t always get the opportunity to go on family excursions and receive special school holiday treats like other children do. It was lovely to be giving these deserving children something that they could play with that was new and just for them.
