"Children have the right to relax, play and take part in activities they enjoy"

To kick start Children's Week at Your Library we ran a couple of Children's Week Events at Realm on Saturday, October 21st. Realm hosted a 2-hour drop-in session called LEGO-Palooza where children and their parents/caregivers could come along and build with LEGO.
The theme for Children's Week 2023 was "Children have the right to relax, play and take part in activities they enjoy" which is based on Article 31 of the United Nations Convention of on the Rights of the Child.
The Good360 donations were well received by both children and their parents/caregivers.
As you can see from the photos, children designed a variety of different creations from boats out at sea, to spaceships, and Minecraft houses.
LEGO is great in offering a wide variety of different materials and LEGO figurines to enable the children to set up their own worlds and bring their ideas to life.
Our current LEGO set at Your Library is very popular, and often booked out at the library branches. Having more LEGO is going to provide us with many more opportunities in the future.
The event was well received by both children and their parents/caregivers, with several asking when we might run sessions again. Over the 2 hours, we had approximately 50 children and adults drop in to play and chat. Several of the parents/caregivers were chatting amongst themselves, previously strangers but bonding over their child's love of LEGO.
Thank you Good360 and LEGO
