Finna and Tilda have been research participants in a national type 1 diabetes study since they were born! ENDIA is the first study in the world to follow at risk children from the pregnancy to find out what in the environment (as well as genetic risk) causes the condition.
Every 3-6 months these children tolerate blood tests, swabs, urine, and stool samples in the same research. Most of them don't like the blood tests much at all, but they still provide one on most study visits.
ENDIA is grateful to Good360 and LEGO for the opportunity to acknowledge the significant contributions these little people are making to the type 1 diabetes community. So much so that international researchers are applying to access the data and samples! This is an internationally novel resource that these little people are contributing to!
So a little LEGO that makes them smile is the least we can do!
