BIG W Does It Again

We have been incredibly grateful to be on the receiving end of toasters, kettles, sheets and towels. These are essential items that we purchase on a regular basis to refill our properties. We also give these items to our clients when they are starting out afresh, as they leave us to move in temporary housing and private rental.

At a time when our women don’t want to leave their secure locations and are affected by COVID-19 in more ways than others, being able to source these goods for those in our care is a huge bonus.

Recently we opened a new refuge and with a limited budget, our staff could not believe these were donated. We also have newly appointed long term accommodation where we are able to place women experiencing elder abuse. It’s so hard having to start out again when you are older and on a pension; and trying to buy goods you have had to leave behind in your own home - it's absolutely tragic.
