Supporting students in and out of the classroom

We were lucky to collect a local store donation from Big W - Ballarat. We have been able to use the goods as prizes for students demonstrating our school values of kindness, wisdom, integrity and courage. We also received a large amount of tinsel in the donation. Students were able to use the tinsel to think of how it can relate to maths in class. Some ideas included measuring the basketball court, measuring the tinsel with rulers and pencils, seeing how many times it could wrap around various objects, and graphing student's favourite tinsel colour. Students were then given the tinsel to take home to continue their maths investigations at home so families could work together with their children on various maths concepts.
