Our DV (Domestic Violence) team recently received a heartwarming donation of LEGO sets and Nike shoes from Good360, a leading non-profit organization. This generous contribution has made a significant impact on the lives of the children and families we support.
Many of the families we assist face financial hardships, making it difficult to afford new toys and clothing. The children, who are often the silent sufferers in domestic violence situations, lack access to basic comforts and recreational activities that promote healing and normalcy.
Goos360 stepped in with a timely donation of brand-new LEGO sets and Nike shoes. These items were distributed to the children and teens in our care, providing not just material support, but also a sense of joy and normalcy in their lives.
LEGO has been instrumental in fostering creativity and providing a therapeutic outlet for children. One child, Sarah, age 7, shared how building with LEGO has helped her feel more relaxed and happy. "I made a castle! It’s my safe place now," she said with a bright smile.
The Nike shoes have provided much-needed footwear for teens, boosting their self-esteem and ensuring they have appropriate shoes for school and sports. John, age 14, who had been wearing worn-out sneakers, was thrilled to receive a brand-new pair of Nikes. "I feel more confident going to school now," he mentioned.
