Thank you Good360 for Keeping our Refugees Warm

2 case studies:
1. A client and her family arrived in Australia as refugees from the Thai-Myanmar border in March 2023. She has two daughters and a son. She and her husband are studying English while their children attend primary school. They receive Centrelink payments, but their rent is expensive, leaving them struggling to pay for bills, transportation, and food, and unable to afford warm clothes for the family. When they received jackets for the family, they were overjoyed.
2. Another client arrived in Australia as a refugee from Ethiopia in August 2019 with her five children and husband. Her initial rent was $1,673.00 per month. In October 2023, her Real Estate Agent notified her that the rent would be increased to $2,400.00 per month. Her husband, an Uber driver with irregular income, couldn't afford the increase. She has young children and is unable to work. She was told to vacate the property by the end of October 2023 if she couldn't afford the higher rent. She sought help from Wyndham CEC, and they arranged temporary housing and applied for Public Housing. Now, she and her children are moving between friends' houses, while her husband sleeps in the car. Their Public Housing application has been approved but is not a priority. She has applied for 14 properties but has been unsuccessful. The warm jackets they received have been essential in their current situation.
Other refugees have received books, LEGOs, etc.
