The Y WA - Christmas in July for our OSHC Children!

On behalf of everyone at Bateman YMCA, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all those involved in supporting our organization and contributing donations. Your generosity has made a significant impact on our before and after-school care program. Today, the children at our OSHC (Outside School Hours Care) program had a remarkable experience. They enthusiastically immersed themselves in a creative session, cutting, gluing, and crafting their figurines and structures from Lego pieces. This activity was particularly meaningful for children diagnosed with ADHD and autism, providing them with opportunities for problem-solving and creative expression.
Due to the newly opened service and budgeting, providing a wide range of Lego sets that cater to different age groups, genders, and themes is challenging. However, your donations made it possible for us to offer these enriching activities to our children. Witnessing the joy and excitement among the children, including a Year 5 boy who creates LEGO pieces from paper for his island, was truly heartwarming. Their enthusiasm was clear, while some thought this was Christmas in July. For 2.5 hours, the children wholeheartedly engaged with the LEGO materials, demonstrating their love for both independent and group activities, despite they don’t always like working in groups. We sincerely thank Good360 for your kindness and support. Your contributions have made a positive difference in the lives of the children at all 18 YMCA WA OSHC services.
