LEGO...the universal language of love!

The students at Bute EL & PS were warmly welcomed into the Hospital School SA by Principal Matthew and his wonderful staff. The Bute students collaborated with the Hospital School students to participate in a Book Week challenge of creating Harry Potter LEGO kits without any instructions. Additionally, the Starlight Captains from the Starlight Children’s Foundation, who hosted and MCd the event in the Starlight Express Room, introduced a "wheel of challenges" to add an extra level of difficulty. The students rose to the challenge and worked incredibly well together, resulting in smiles all around. It was a beautiful sight to see the children unite and interact as if they had been lifelong friends.
There was also a small (or large!)surprise for the Hospital School. Through our school’s partnership with Good360 Australia, we organized over 120 amazing LEGO kits to donate to the Hospital School. Principal Matthew had noted earlier that LEGO is extremely popular with the students who spend time in the Hospital School, which sees upwards of 3700 children each year. These kits will be used in various ways, including as gifts for students when they leave the Hospital School and return to their regular school. It's truly heartwarming.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Good360 Australia and LEGO Australia for enabling this wonderful experience for everyone involved.
