Taking Steps to Support Children in Need

The Frank Konecny Community Centre was able, with the support of an amazing donation, to provide brand-new, quality shoes to children who have been placed in local transitional housing due to being removed from unsafe living conditions. Most of these children have experienced traumatic events that have forced them to grow up quickly. When distributing the shoes, the children were able to try on pairs in their size and choose the ones they wanted. One of the centre staff members shared a touching moment, saying, "When I gave a pair to an 11-year-old boy, he told me that he once had a new pair of shoes from his nana for Christmas, but didn't get to keep them because his mom returned them to buy alcohol. I had to hold back tears and promised him that these shoes were his until they didn't fit his feet anymore, and even then, he could keep them forever if he wanted to."
We would like to express our gratitude to Good360 and its corporate partners for their generous donation
