Giving girls brighter days

In the crisis and support services we offer we have seen a larger number of low socio-economic households struggling to purchase the basic hygiene necessities for their household. When centre staff saw the amazing opportunity on the Good360 website from Days for Girls, we were excited to be able to provide these environmentally friendly products to protect our young ladies in the community from feeling embarrassment or shame from a natural body function.
One of the families were able to support was a single father that has 3 teenage daughters in his care. He had confided in staff that he was struggling to get his 13-year-old to school for she had blood leak on her skirt and was heavily teased. When we gave him these packs and the instructions, he was very emotional. The next week when he attended the food crisis hampers, he told staff "I felt like I was failing as a dad for when I need to buy bread and milk for the girls to have breakfast I could not afford their girl stuff too, now they have these special packs that they can wash and use and my little girl does not look scared to go to school knowing she now can use her special pack. Please thank whoever donated them for it means so much to my family."
