The local communities gathered around the firepit, preparing for a special day. Today, they were coming together to strengthen cultural ties and share something significant—camping equipment donated by Good360 to the Dr Steve Burroughs Foundation to support cultural camps for various communities' children, men, and women.
Elders of the Aboriginal communities shared stories of the land, their ancestors, and the importance of passing down knowledge to the younger generation. These cultural camps are a key part of that effort. Held in sacred outdoor spaces, the camps teach children traditional survival skills, cultural crafts, and a deep connection to nature. For men and women, these camps also offered a space for healing, bonding, and empowerment. Business leaders from the community often attended, using the time in nature to reflect on how cultural values could shape their businesses, fostering sustainability and community-centred growth.
The donated camping equipment—a variety of tents, ground cloths, and chairs, is a game changer. The children marvelled at the new, vibrant tents, while the older men and women inspected the tools, imagining the future workshops and lessons. One of the elders, Aunty Brenda, addresses the crowd. "This is more than gear. This is a bridge for our youth and our people to continue learning who we are. It brings hope and reminds us that we are never too far from our roots."
We are truly grateful for Good360's generous donation. Thank You
