Big W Donation Brings Joy to Children in Care and People with Disabilities

MADEC Ltd is a Licensed Child Safety and NDIS Provider, offering support to children, youth, and people with disabilities in Mackay and the Whitsundays. Currently, we provide 24/7 out-of-home care to 10 young people, aged 4-18, and assist over 40 people with disabilities. Our children and youth often come into care with few personal possessions and may have experienced trauma. For our people with disabilities, the NDIS does not cover daily household items or many small pleasures that many take for granted.

Thanks to Good360 and Big W, MADEC received products valued at $520. These products included a variety of children's clothing and accessories, as well as gift sets and cosmetics. These items have brought normalcy and joy to our children in care, with our recipients particularly excited about the Easter-themed accessories and Hogwarts shirts.

For many of our people with disabilities, the cosmetics provided dignity and an opportunity to experiment with new colors and makeup. The mug and scarf gift sets have been set aside to distribute to participants as part of their Christmas presents, which will surely bring delight and make a difference in the homes of the people we support.
