Bricks of Joy: Providing Struggling Single Mums a Chance to Spoil Their Child on Their Birthday

For many single mums, birthdays can bring a mix of joy and stress. As they struggle to make ends meet, the pressure of providing a special gift for their child on their big day can feel overwhelming. This was the case for many mothers in Transit Soup Kitchen and Food Support’s community, who faced the heart-wrenching reality of not being able to afford birthday presents.
One mum, Sarah, shared her story of relief and happiness when she received a LEGO set from Good360. With her child’s birthday just weeks away, she had been agonising over how she could make it special despite her tight budget. When she received the LEGO set, she said, "It was like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I didn’t have to worry anymore." The moment brought her immense peace and happiness, knowing that she could give her child a special experience without the financial strain. "It wasn’t just a gift for my child," Sarah said. "It was a gift for me too."
Thanks to the LEGO received from Good360, many single mums like Sarah have been able to remove the financial burden, let go of the guilt, and instead celebrate their children with the joy they deserve. These moments of happiness, where children are surprised with something as simple as a LEGO set, mean the world to both the kids and their mums.
