Thanks to the generous support of Good360, Peninsula Mental Health and Wellbeing Service received a donation of LEGO, which created much excitement across our inpatient, community services, and residential settings.
The Peninsula Mental Health and Wellbeing Service provides treatment, care, and support for infants, children, families, and older adults throughout the Frankston and Peninsula region. LEGO has numerous applications in mental health care and holds universal appeal across all ages. It was quickly distributed to all locations, and the mental health teams incorporated LEGO into Co-design workshops, encouraging creative thinking and helping staff, clients, and families develop solutions to challenging problems.
Families and caregivers have access to LEGO sets during group and individual therapy sessions. LEGO has also been included in waiting areas for children and young people attending Infant and Child Mental Health services. This incorporation helps create a welcoming environment while they await their appointments, which can often be a stressful time.
LEGO also supports staff wellbeing by providing moments of mindfulness and opportunities for team building.
"Thank you, Good360. LEGO has brought so much joy to our services, both for the staff and clients who visit our sites. Its arrival created a real buzz, and it has been incredible to see the engagement of clients, caregivers, families, and staff," said Kate Andrews, GM of Peninsula Health
