Safety Communication for Women impacted by Family Violence

Wellsprings for Women offers culturally safe case management services to women from migrant and refugee backgrounds who are affected by family violence. The SIM cards we obtained from Good360 were used to provide women with an alternative mobile phone, allowing them to contact us without compromising their safety. Many of these women are still living in abusive relationships, often monitored closely by their partners, and may not be ready to leave.
During our risk assessments, we always evaluate how safe they feel using their current mobile devices, as these phones are often tracked by the perpetrator. By supplying them with an alternative mobile device to communicate with their caseworker, we offer an additional safety measure that is crucial, especially during times when they feel the risk of violence is imminent.
