Rural Students Care Packages - Supporting Families

During this stressful and isolating time of the COVID-19 pandemic, Hay War Memorial High School Parents & Citizens and Hay War Memorial High School thought of a way to bring a smile to the students. We brainstormed and decided to make care packages for the students and their families, and deliver them to the students at the end of Term 2.

Leading into a two week break from school can be a time of isolation for children in rural communities. It was an appropriate time to boost the morale of the students and give back to the students for their perseverance.

Tailoring the packages with respect to each year group was a planning challenge. Good360, with their supportive businesses provided such appropriate items for our care packages.

Being able to provide each student with everyday items addressing health and wellbeing needs, as well as the brainstorming ideas with parents, made the process that much more special and brought the school community together.

Students and community members were outstanding leading up to the day, from packaging to cleaning.
