Cooerwull Public School is grateful to have partnered with Good360 and LEGO to launch an inspiring initiative to enhance innovative learning approaches, improve student attendance, and promote overall well-being.
Recognising the link between regular attendance and academic success, Cooerwull PS has introduced a weekly LEGO prize program for students who demonstrate strong and improved attendance. This initiative has quickly proven effective, offering students an exciting and tangible incentive to attend school regularly. The anticipation of earning LEGO rewards has fostered a positive atmosphere, encouraging students to prioritise their attendance and contributing to a notable shift in school culture.
Moreover, the integration of LEGO into the classroom has significantly enriched STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. By incorporating LEGO into lessons, educators can facilitate hands-on, project-based learning experiences. Students engage in building and testing their understanding of essential concepts in physics, engineering, and mathematics. From constructing simple machines to exploring structural stability, LEGO transforms abstract ideas into accessible, engaging activities that stimulate curiosity and critical thinking.
Additionally, student well-being is a priority at Cooerwull PS. Classes have introduced “LEGO time” into their schedules, providing students with an opportunity to engage in a creative and relaxing activity.
