Laptops help young country people in care engage in learning

Laptops, complete with dongles and SIM cards to provide a year of data, have been provided to children and youths in foster and residential care at no cost thanks to the generous support of Good360 and Optus. The devices will help young people in country South Australia engage in formal education and other learning opportunities, as well as connect to web-based services. Mount Gambier foster carer Lynette said one of the laptops provided for a primary school-aged child in her care would help with their education. “They will be over the moon at the opportunity to have access to their personal computer for school work and to access educational resources,” she said.
