Ending Homelessness

Micah Projects works to break down barriers that exclude people from housing, healthcare, employment, meaningful connections, and to give people a voice. We ensure the immediate needs of individuals and families are met, in a supportive, informed and respectful manner.

Over the past two months, Micah Projects has moved over 800 rough sleepers and 100 families into temporary hotel/motel accommodation, so they are safe with shelter, to protect themselves and others. On average we support a further 70 women weekly, many with children, in motels or emergency accommodation, to keep safe from domestic violence, as they wait for sustainable accommodation to become available.

We are currently supporting people to transition from hotel/motel accommodation into more permanent sustainable housing. This involves sourcing whitegoods, other furniture, bedding and other linen, cooking and dining essentials, and cleaning products, for setting up houses/units to make them a home.

It made such a big difference to be able to receive brand-new toasters, bedding thanks to BIG W as well as all the other amazing goods we recieved through Good360. Pictured are two staff members holding the sheet sets and toasters these goods are essential to assist with house set-ups. Thank you Good360 and all your donors for providing these essential goods, it really does make such a big difference to the people we help.
