Bags for all!

Micah Projects works to break down barriers that exclude people from housing, healthcare, employment, meaningful connections, and to give people a voice. We ensure the immediate needs of individuals and families are met, in a supportive, informed and respectful manner. Our Mission Statement is to respond to people who experience exclusion, poverty, injustice and social isolation so that they may experience inclusion, economic well being, justice and connection within their community of choice.

We purchase tote bags regularly to assist with the provision of crisis clothing, food, groceries and toiletry packs for the many people we support.

In October 2019, we ordered around 2400 HESTA bags through Good360 and the four volunteers in the photo are holding the last four which are full of emergency groceries for families who were social distancing due to COVID-19.

Most of the HESTA bags were used for crisis clothing, toiletries and food packs, for women, many with children, we supported in emergency or motel accommodation, to keep safe from domestic violence, as they waited for sustainable accommodation to become available.

Thank you to appa and Good360 for the bags!
