Sleeping Bags for Homeless Teenagers

I have battled for months to keep going on my own, but I just wasn't sure if it was worth me fighting for life and not just giving up on everything. My parents don't want me. I know that because I came home from school one day and the locks were changed, a note was on the door telling me never to bother them again. I've known for a while they didn't want me, but I didn't have any other option, they rarely gave me food and I would often head back to the school and grab some of the food that had been thrown out from the canteen that day. It wasn't that bad, but I don't understand what I ever did wrong for them to hate me so much.

I lived on the streets for a month before I found my mate Dan. He is the one friend I trust and we do everything together to make sure we are both safe. We take turns to sleep and look out for each other, for the first time I feel like I have a real brother.

It was freezing and we were really struggling so we went to a youth service for help. They gave us these brilliant Anchor Packs filled with things to help us survive while we lived on the streets. My absolute favourite part of that pack is the sleeping bag. We can sleep anywhere, we are finally warm and it has been months since we have had a decent sleep.

Things are so much better now, we are still on the streets, but are working hard with the youth service for accommodation and jobs.

Thanks heaps. It is so good to know someone cares enough to help even though we didn't feel worth it.
