The Clontarf Foundation Alumni Christmas BBQ

The Clontarf Foundation exists to improve the education, discipline, self-esteem, life skills and employment prospects of young Aboriginal men and by doing so, equips them to participate more meaningfully in society. We operate in schools to assist with attendance and retention and work with our graduates to assist them to obtain and sustain employment or further study.

Over the weekend we held a Christmas BBQ for our Alumni. It was a pleasure to see this event attended by over thirty young men who have been through our program. All bar two of the attendees were employed and all were outstanding role models for their family and community. The gifts generously donated by Good360 were distributed to the young men in attendance, many of whom have young children of their own. Many of our Alumni’s young children, siblings, nieces and nephews, mothers and fathers, and nans and pops will all have a little bit of extra Christmas joy thanks to Good360. The boys were incredibly thankful and grateful for the opportunity to give presents to their family where they may otherwise have found it financially difficult to do so.

We work with a marginalized and disadvantaged group who often come from families with many social challenges. No doubt Christmas presents are not a high priority for those in tough economic circumstances. It was satisfying for our staff to know the gifts we were supplying would be hugely appreciated and brighten the lives of those who they would be passed onto.
